Curly Girl Method
An increasing number of women with curly hair are joining this trend known as the Curly Girl Method. This method has its origins in stylist Lorraine Massey, who in addition to launching a book on the subject, Curly Girl: The Handbook, created a complete line of products.
The aim of this method is to provide curly hair with maximum hydration to avoid the frizz that is typical of this type of hair and to achieve naturally defined curls.
Válquer Laboratorios, with its characteristic seal of innovation in hair treatments, has joined this trend by launching the CURLY GIRL line. It consists of a specially designed shampoo, hair mask and leave-in conditioner for curls. Also, this product line is formulated without using any sulphates, silicones, parabens, waxes, mineral oils, and drying alcohols.
This line is ideal for any type of curly hair, since it is formulated with a 100% natural active ingredient derived from corn that will improve curl resistance, control frizz, and protect from humidity. Besides, these products can also be used by children since they do not change the structure of the hair but help define the natural curl.
Would you like to be a real curly girlYou should avoid using products with the following ingredients:
- Prohibited alcohols (drying): denatured alcohol, witch hazel, isopropyl alcohol, ethanol, alcohol SD, alcohol 40 SD, propanol, propyl alcohol.
- Mineral oil.
Why is this method important for curly hair?
One of the big problems with curly hair is its tendency to dryness and frizz, which is mostly due to the use of sulfate hair products, surfactants that remove dirt from the hair and consequently the natural oils that are responsible for nourishing it.
When people notice their hair getting rougher, they turn to standard masks and conditioners, which contain silicones. The problem with silicones is that they are not water soluble, so they need powerful agents, such as sulfates, to be removed. If we try to clean them with a sulfate-free shampoo, it won’t work; instead, they will accumulate, and the hair will appear dull and lacking brightness, with “flakes” or “dandruff” that won’t be the main cause.
