Dry skin lacks lipids and tends to flake; dull skin can appear on any skin type, including combination or oily skin. Dull skin is characterized by a loss of radiance and even tone, not necessarily by tightness or flaking. However, dehydration is one of its main causes, so they can coexist..

Vitamin C is the illuminating active ingredient par excellence: it inhibits melanin production, provides an antioxidant effect, and stimulates collagen synthesis. Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) is also very effective for evening out skin tone and improving the skin barrier. Our Valquer Illuminating Vitamin C Serum combines both active ingredients in a fast-absorbing formula.

The first results—increased hydration and softness—are noticeable within the first 7–10 days of continuous use. Visible improvements in radiance and tone become established between 3 and 4 weeks, coinciding with a complete cell renewal cycle. For optimal results on persistent spots or irregularities, we recommend maintaining the routine for 8 weeks.

The most effective combination is: gentle exfoliation twice a week to remove dead skin cells, Vitamin C serum every morning for a brightening effect, and a moisturizing cream with hyaluronic acid to maintain the skin barrier. Add SPF 50 sunscreen daily—the sun is the external factor that dulls the skin the most in the long term. Our complete Valquer Dull Skin routine combines all these steps.

Most products in this collection are formulated without added fragrances and with high-tolerance ingredients. For sensitive skin, we recommend starting with the Hyaluronic Serum and Moisturizing Cream, and gradually incorporating the AHA exfoliant (once a week). If you have active rosacea or dermatitis, consult your dermatologist before using active ingredients like Vitamin C or AHAs.

In winter, the combination of cold outdoor temperatures, indoor heating, and less sun exposure reduces peripheral circulation and slows down cell renewal. Skin loses water more easily in dry environments, and seasonal stress also plays a role. That's why it's especially important to boost hydration and exfoliation during the colder months.

For dull skin, chemical exfoliants with AHAs (glycolic or lactic acid) are more effective than physical ones because they dissolve the cohesion between dead cells without causing microtears. Our Valquer AHA Renewing Exfoliant is formulated with 5% glycolic acid—an effective and well-tolerated concentration—for regular home use.
