Yes. The formulas are designed to be combined with each other according to your skin's needs at any time of day or season.
Use at night. On clean, dry skin, apply a small amount to the neck and face, avoiding the eye area. Allow to absorb and follow with a moisturizer.
If you've never used retinoids before, start gradually. Start with 2-3 days a week and gradually increase depending on your skin's tolerance. Apply sunscreen the following morning.
In general, it is recommended to start with low doses of Retinal, alternating days, and gradually increase the dose according to skin tolerance, as it can cause slight peeling.
If you've never used Retinal before, start with the 0.1% concentration; for regular users, you can use the 0.2% concentration, also starting every other day to assess skin tolerance.
0.1%: Recommended for sensitive, dry, or previously used retinoid skin. It's a gentler option, ideal for beginners without the risk of irritation.
0.2%: Designed for more experienced users or skin accustomed to retinoids. It has a more intensive action on wrinkles, uneven texture, and visible signs of aging.
Both versions contain sustained-release encapsulated retinal, which maintains efficacy while reducing the risk of skin reactions.
We do not recommend combining vitamin C or exfoliating acids in the same application, as they can irritate the skin.
Although its absorption is low and there are no conclusive studies on its risk, as a precaution, it is not recommended to use retinoid derivatives or vitamin A during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Avoid applying it when in contact with white clothing, as its yellow nature can transfer to these fabrics. We recommend applying it shortly before bedtime or covering your pillow with another cloth.
Vitamin A is absorbed by our body and, to perform its function in our skin, it must go through the following reactions (known as retinoids) until it reaches retinoic acid:
Retinol esters -> Retinol -> Retinaldehyde (Retinal) -> Retinoic acid.
Retinal is closer to the final product of the reaction, making it a more potent and faster-acting molecule than retinol, as well as being less irritating.
Our Retinal is contained in a matrix that acts as a reservoir and has a sustained-release system, which maintains its effectiveness and reduces irritation.
Pure retinal is yellow in color, and due to its concentration, it causes the formula to acquire this color.
Yes, all except retinal. The fragrances have been selected for their soft, fresh character, suitable even for sensitive skin.
Yes, the entire Skin Essentials range is vegan, dermatologically tested, and formulated with purified water.
